Islam Elarabi, Cairo / Egypt 2024
The photographs show the movement artist Islam Elarabi in his home in Faisal, Cairo. The images document his relationship with the space where he has spent most of his life. The small, everyday details—stacks of folded fabrics and quiet corners—create a sense of peace. These habits of care are more than just routine; they are acts of love, woven into the rhythm of his family life. Each folded blanket, each familiar sound, reflects a home in the sense of belonging.
Mona Moneim, Cairo / Egypt 2024
During the shoot, Mona and I reflected that “home” also exists within the body—a feeling that grows from childhood moments, both the playful, happy ones where we felt free, and those defined by limits and boundaries.

Photography and Audio Installation, Cairo / Berlin / Ukraine
This series features eight large-format edited photographs that merge elements from Cairo, Lviv, and Berlin, highlighting the familiar concrete structures that have been part of my life across different cities. Having moved from Ukraine to Berlin and then to Cairo, I’m continually searching for a sense of belonging—a search that both succeeds and falls short in these places.
Rishabh Gupta, Cairo / Egypt 2024
When we met for the photoshoot, Rishabh was about to leave Egypt to go back to his home country. I captured him at his apartment and in the area where he resided.
Laura Schultis, Dancer. Berlin / Germany 2022.
In collaboration with the contemporary dancer Laura Schultis, we were exploring the questions about the relation between space and movement. What does it mean to inhabit a space that limits our movement? Is it the space itself that constrains us, or are the true limitations imposed by external factors? How can we transform our environments to make them more agile? The last two images are frames from a video, where Laura is moving within the walls.
Tatyana Minervina, Lviv / Ukraine 2021
The photographs show my grandmother shortly after her 80th birthday in April 2021. My grandmother lives alone in Ukraine.* In 2021, I spent two weeks with her in her prefabricated apartment, where she has been living for 43 years. Her everyday life consists of forgetting and remembering. Often, I see her as someone very close to me, and sometimes she remains hidden from me as a person.
*Unfortunately, my grandmother was forced to move to Germany at the end of 2022.

Boris, Lviv / Ukraine 2021
These photographs show my grandmother's friend, whom she met two years ago during a computer course. This man lives in a small self-built house. When he visits my grandmother, he comes by bicycle. However, sometimes he doesn't get in touch for several weeks, and we don't know why.
