Film and Art Practice
Nataliya Nikolska is a documentary filmmaker and artist. Her work centers on the social and cultural structures that shape everyday experience — who belongs, how communities form, and what gets carried across borders and between generations.
Before turning to film and art, she founded a sustainable dance community in Cairo, where she worked for several years as a community organizer. She studied fine art at the Berlin University of the Arts, with a focus on photography, sound, and installation, and completed additional studies in mathematics at the Free University of Berlin. Her work spans documentary film, photography, and video, often in collaboration with musicians and movement artists.
Her debut short film Sou'oud – Mahraganat – From Street to Stage premieres at Festival de Marseille in July 2026.
